US firm wins contract for new Iraqi airport
Iraq is set to get a new international airport that will complement and support the existing Baghdad International Airport and initially handle two million passengers a year. The airport will be situated in Salahuddin province north of Baghdad with a population of just overone million residents. Hartsfield-Jackson’s cargo traffic on the rise
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport – which is served by 13 all-cargo carriers – has posted upswings in year-over-year cargo traffic for three consecutive months. Dubai Airports sees double-digit growth
Dubai Airports has posted doubledigit growth in both cargo and passenger traffic in February. Dubai Airports Cargo and Logistics handled a total of 171,707 tonnes of freight in February 2010, up 26.7 per cent over the same month in 2009. Düsseldorf celebrates new Emirates B777F
Emirates SkyCargo now operates a weekly brand new B777F aircraft direct from Dubai to and from Düsseldorf. This flight replaces the B747F which was routed via Malpensa. Emirates has also up-sized one of two daily passenger flights from an A330-200 to a B777-ER, which provides an extra seven tonnes of cargo per flight.
