IATA: November air freight demand reflects strong peak season
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), rose 6.8% in November 2016 compared to the year-earlier period. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for November 2016 showing the strongest demand growth in nine months. Total revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) rose 7.6% compared to November 2015. Andhra Pradesh set to become a regional aviation hub
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Andhra Pradesh was set to emerge as a regional aviation hub, after Vijayawada Airport registered 73 per cent growth last year. The two other airports in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati are also witnessing growth. S.F. Express to build Asia’s largest air freight hub in China
Chinese private logistics giant S.F. Express Co Ltd has pledged to build the busiest air cargo hub in Asia, reaching areas accounting for 80% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product within two hours, including major cities like Beijing and Shanghai.
