A new transatlantic joint venture between Air France-KLM and Delta Air Lines will boost each partner's profits by up to US$150 million, the two airlines said recently. HK’s April volumes steady, still a concern
April air cargo volumes at Hong Kong International Airport fell 19.8 per cent year-on-year in April to 257,000 tonnes, according to Hong Kong's Airport Authority. India’s air cargo free-fall bottoms out
Indian domestic air cargo traffic has halted its sharp decline, with March figures showing a decline of only 2.4 per cent compared to nearly an 11 per cent drop in February, according to the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Overall, total freight traffic - international and domestic - handled at all Indian airports decreased by 4.5 per cent in March 2009 compared to the same month a year earlier. Macquarie Airports, a fund managed by Australia's biggest investment bank Macquarie Group, has offered to sell its 15 per cent holding in Japan Airport Terminal (JAT), Reuters reported. JAT manages Tokyo International Airport and also operates merchandise, food and beverage businesses at other airports in Japan at Narita and Kansai. According to a report released by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), 90 per cent of the air cargo companies involved in arms trafficking to African countries have also been delivering humanitarian aid.
