Airbus COO-customers, John Leahy said recently that the manufacturer may ramp up A320 family aircraft production to 40 per month as early as the end of 2010 or early 2011, a signal that the industry has some confidence in an impending economic recovery. EADS first-quarter profit tumbles 40%
Airbus parent EADS reported first-quarter net income of €170 million (US$232 million), down 40 per cent from €285 million a year earlier, as net commercial aircraft orders dropped dramatically year-on-year to eight compared to 395 in last year's first quarter. GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) today announced the delivery of a new Airbus A320-200 to GoAir as part of the airline's fleet expansion. This is one of five aircraft GECAS currently leases to the airline. GoAir, based in India, currently operates a fleet of seven A320 aircraft. Qantas airbuses back in the air
All three of Qantas' new A380 super jumbo jets are up, up and away once more after being grounded for 24 hours to deal with fuel tank and steering problems, the carrier said. The aircraft were grounded in London and Sydney to deal with issues the airline described as "teething problems".
