FedEx forecasts record-breaking shipments this peak season
FedEx Corp. predicts it will move a record-breaking 317 million shipments between Black Friday (27 November) and Christmas Eve. This forecast marks a 12.4 per cent increase in year-over-year seasonal volume. The season is expected to be bolstered by three volume spikes in the US, including Cyber Monday (30 November) and the first two Mondays in December, when the company expects to move more than double its average daily volume. Scoot opens Melbourne route with B787
Singapore-based low-cost carrier and Singapore Airlines subsidiary, Scoot, received a traditional water cannon welcome on Sunday, when its B787 Dreamliner aircraft arrived at Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport. This marked the start of a new scheduled service to Australia's second largest city, with flights operating five times a week, rising to daily in peak travel periods. Fraport AG and WFS have completed the transaction for a strategic partnership in the area of airfreight handling at Frankfurt Airport. Under the agreement signed in July 2015, Fraport has sold a 51-per cent share in its Frankfurt-based Fraport Cargo Services GmbH (FCS) subsidiary to WFS, the world's largest independent air cargo handler. Emirates SkyCargo inaugurates new terminal at DWC
Located in the Logistics District in Dubai South, the new terminal dubbed Emirates SkyCentral, is the home of SkyCargo’s fleet of 15 freighters and was necessitated by the shift of SkyCargo’s maindeck fleet out of increasingly congested Dubai International Airport (DXB) in May of last year to the new DWC airport.
