Global cargo growth barely ekes out 2.3% growth in 2015

February 17, 2016 by PLA Editor

While global passenger traffic grew by 5.9 per cent in the month of December 2015 and by 6.1 per cent for the period from January to December 2015, global air freight markets were substantially weaker, coming to the finish line with a modest 2.3 per cent growth in total freight, according to the Airports Council International (ACI). This modest growth was largely due to subdued growth in emerging markets and developing economies, along with a more modest recovery in advanced economies, ACI … [Read more...] about Global cargo growth barely ekes out 2.3% growth in 2015

Nov cargo declines in 7 of 10 largest freight markets: ACI

January 14, 2016 by PLA Editor

Global air freight markets show volumes in decline by 1.3 per cent in November 2015, thereby removing the optimism from the first half of the year, said the Airports Council International in releasing its monthly statistics. The continuing lethargy on the cargo side contrasted sharply with the passenger figures which sowed a global growth of 6.2 per cent. In the last four months, air freight plunged into the negative territory twice—in August (-0.4 per cent) and in November (-1.3 per cent). This … [Read more...] about Nov cargo declines in 7 of 10 largest freight markets: ACI
