HONG KONG: Hong Kong air cargo decline moderates

Cargo tonnage at Hong Kong’s Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), pictured above, was down 20 per cent in July year-on-year, while the larger Hong Kong AirCargo Terminals was down 8.4 per cent. AeroLogic appoints Asia Airfreight Terminal

Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) has been appointed by AeroLogic as its cargo handling agent at the Hong Kong International Airport. AeroLogic, a joint venture cargo airline of DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo, is the first airline to operate the new B777F. Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd announced its tonnage throughput for May 2009 was 37,039 tonnes, down 31 per cent compared with the same month last year with AAT general manager, Planning & Services, Nelson Lee pointing to the opening of Fedex’s new Asia-Pacific Hub at Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport as playing a significant part in the weak tonnage performance. AAT cautious on levelling of cargo declines

Hong Kong's second largest cargo terminal, Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd (AAT), announced today that its March throughput declined by 28 per cent year-on-year, to a total of 40,217 tonnes.
