Kuehne+Nagel has completed the acquisition of Chinese forwarder Apex International with a purchase price of more than US$1.2 billion (CHF 1.1 billion), adding significant forwarding expertise, particularly on the transpacific and intra-Asia routes. DHL Express dedicates flights to SGN, PEN
DHL Express is making minor tweaks to its air network in Asia Pacific to meet the ecommerce boom that has spread across the region, particularly in Vietnam and Malaysia. The express service provider will now operate direct flights to Penang (PEN) from its central Asian hub in Hong Kong (HGK), replacing the previous route connected via Ho Chi Minh (SGN). Cainiao starts Zhengzhou-Budapest air cargo link
Cainiao Network has launched direct cargo flights last week between Zhengzhou and Budapest, Hungary to meet the growing consumer demand in Eastern Europe. The service, which started on 14 May, will operate five times each week with 17 tonnes of capacity each day. Polar Air Cargo obtains CEIV Pharma certification
Polar Air Cargo is set to fly more pharma shipments after the cargo operator and its sibling Atlas Air obtained the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) Corporate Pharma credential from IATA. In pursuing the credential, Polar Air Cargo adopted standard operating procedures and completed a multistep process to train ground and warehouse personnel, including its vendors. Hong Kong’s cargo volume up double digits in April
Press release Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) released Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) traffic statistics for April 2021. During the month, cargo throughput saw a year-on-year increase of 15.5 percent to 389,000 tonnes. HKIA handled 60,000 passengers and 10,375 flights, marking year-on-year increases of 89.0 percent and 9.9 percent, respectively.
