Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of Alibaba Group, last week announced the launch of its first air cargo route between China and Africa, amidst booming demand for Chinese products and close bilateral tie between the two countries. Cainiao, the logistics arm of ecommece giant Alibaba is working on a ‘supply chain pilot zone’ with the Hainan government to help the southern island province develop duty-free services as it makes way to becoming a free-trade port. Cainiao to become logistics partner of SMEs in Korea
Cainiao Network has made a partnership move with small businesses and startups in South Korea which will see the company become the official provider of logistics services for enterprises that want to export. Hong Kong Air Cargo gets green light for new routes
Hong Kong Air Cargo in early May was granted approval from the Air Transport Licensing Authority (ATLA) to operate scheduled cargo flights to nine new routes. Cainiao starts Zhengzhou-Budapest air cargo link
Cainiao Network has launched direct cargo flights last week between Zhengzhou and Budapest, Hungary to meet the growing consumer demand in Eastern Europe. The service, which started on 14 May, will operate five times each week with 17 tonnes of capacity each day.
