Cathay Pacific Cargo sees cargo revenue drop 17% in 1H

Fierce competition, excess capacity and suspended fuel surcharges saw cargo revenue at Cathay Pacific falling 17.2 per cent in the first half to US$1.2 billion. The decline occured despite a marginal increase in the tonnage carried in the first six months of 0.2 per cent, which was offset by a 0.6 per cent increase in capacity of both Cathay Pacific and Dragonair that pulled the load factors down to 62.2 per cent, the carrier said. Cathay Pacific relents on carriage of shark’s fin, implements total ban

Cathay Pacific Cargo has relented on the carriage of shark’s fin, implementing a total ban on all carriage of the product. The move comes significantly after most other Asian carriers implemented bans. Cathay, Lufthansa join forces in new cargo agreement

Cathay Pacific Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo have signed a far reaching cargo cooperation agreement to provide customers with a larger and faster joint network on routes between Hong Kong and Europe from early next year. Cathay signs up DoKaSch pharma containers

To better facilitate the shipment of temperature-sensitive goods and pharmaceutical products, Cathay Pacific Cargo has signed a master agreement DoKaSch Temperature Solutions for renting the latest-technology active containers, the RKN and RAP Opticooler. Cathay cargo terminal officially opens at HKIA

The HK$5.9 billion (US$720 million) Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport, which began operations in February last year and became fully operational in October, has been officially opened.
