DHL Global Forwarding has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on building the China-Europe logistics corridor with Chengdu Gateway Logistics Office, the government agency responsible for developing Chengdu into a major trade hub under China's 'Belt and Road' initiative. DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist of Deutsche Post DHL Group, opened a new logistics centre for life science and healthcare products at Amsterdam-Schiphol. The CEO of Deutsche Post's DHL, Frank Appel has given an “unequivocal" denial that the logistics giant is looking to shed its troubled freight forwarding division, dismissing the flurry of  reports as nothing more than “false rumours”. DHL said to be looking at possible sale of forwarding arm

Deutsche Post unit, DHL, is said to be looking at shedding its troubled freight forwarding division either by spinning if off in some form of strategic joint venture, or outright sale with Japan Post highlighted as a potential suitor, according to a Reuters report.
