K+N’s Tim Scharwath appointed to DHL Global Forwarding

Fomer member of the Management Board at Kuehne + Nagel International AG, Tim Scharwath has been appointed to the Board of Management responsible for DHL Global Forwarding, Freight. Scharwath was K+N’s member of the Management Board responsible for global airfreight since 2011. The new CEO DHL Global Forwarding, Freight will join the Group within the next twelve months. The CEO of Deutsche Post's DHL, Frank Appel has given an “unequivocal" denial that the logistics giant is looking to shed its troubled freight forwarding division, dismissing the flurry of  reports as nothing more than “false rumours”. DHL said to be looking at possible sale of forwarding arm

Deutsche Post unit, DHL, is said to be looking at shedding its troubled freight forwarding division either by spinning if off in some form of strategic joint venture, or outright sale with Japan Post highlighted as a potential suitor, according to a Reuters report. DHL Global Forwarding has added Taiwan into its pioneering and rapidly expanding North Asia multimodal network with a sea link between Taiwan and mainland China, offering customers the full-container load door-to-door service, DHL Railing. Asia by road: DHL extends road network

DHL Global Forwarding has rolled out an integrated road freight network that now links five key Asian cities - Singapore, Penang, Bangkok, Hanoi and Shenzhen. DHL AsiaConnect was launched in 2011 connecting Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand and now links to the existing Vietnam-China corridor.
