Finnair to build new cargo terminal

Finnair plans to invest approximately €80 million (US$87.76 million) into a new cargo terminal at Helsinki Airport, near the airline’s technical operations area. Construction of the 377,000-square-foot facility is to begin immediately, with opening anticipated for spring 2017. Finnair Cargo has become the latest carrier to join IAG Cargo’s innovative Partner Plus programme, through which members agree to interline on each other’s metal on a commercially booked basis. Five airlines join IEnvA programme

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that five airlines have completed stages of the IATA Environmental Assessment (IEnvA) programme. IEnvA is a voluntary, two-stage evaluation process designed to drive airline environmental performance improvements through independent assessment. Finnair's first A350 XWB takes shape

The first A350-900 for Finnair is taking shape in the Roger Béteille Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse, France. Finnair will be the first European airline to fly the A350 XWB and the third operator in the world.
