Heavyweight debut for Maximus at Dubai World

An Antonov 124-100 freighter with a payload of up to 120 tonnes belonging to Maximus Air Cargo, the UAE's largest all air cargo operator, became the largest civilian aircraft to touch the tarmac at the recently launched Dubai World Central — Al Maktoum International Airport recently. Maximus to buy aircraft, move into scheduled services

UAE-based charter operator Maximus Air Cargo is planning to start its own scheduled freighter services. “This will either be under our own commercial responsibility or by going into a partnership with an established flag carrier,” said marketing manager Thomas Bommer. “It’s too early to give specific routes at this stage as we are in the process of analysing different scenarios. Maximus Air Cargo doubles its turnover

Heavy-lift specialist, Maximus Air Cargo appears to be immune from the global economic crisis with a more than doubling of its turnover for the 2008 over the previous year. Maximus chaulked up total sales revenue of US$110.8 million up 134 per cent from the US$47.3 million a year earlier, driven by what it said was an expansion in fleet capacity and consistent dispatch reliability.
