Emirates Group sees profits slide 64%
The Emirates Group has reported a 64 percent year-on-year drop in net profit to US$364 million for the first half of its financial year ending 30 September 2016. Group revenue rose one per cent in the period to US$12.7 billion with Emirates Airline contributing US$11.4 billion, down one per cent. Emirates launches Yinchuan, Zhengzhou as part of China expansion
Emirates' Chinese expansion strategy took a significant step forward on Tuesday with the launch of the airline’s first flights to two destinations: Yinchuan and Zhengzhou. Linking Dubai with Yinchuan, the capital of the predominantly Muslim region of Ningxia, and Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province and one of central China's most populous cities. Emirates SkyCargo officially opened the first phase of its state-of-the-art cargo terminal at Dubai’s new Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) yesterday. The Emirates Group today announced its half-year results for 2015-16, showing continued business growth and a strong performance. Emirates announces new service to Panama City
Emirates has announced plans to launch services to Panama City (Tocumen International Airport (PTY)), beginning 1 February 2016. The new service will be the longest non-stop flight in the world (17 hours 35 minutes in the Westbound direction) and will be Emirates’ first gateway destination in Central America.
