AAPA’s Assembly of Presidents to meet in virtual format
The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) announced that the annual Assembly of Presidents, initially scheduled to take place in Japan in November, will now be conducted virtually due to ongoing travel restrictions and blanket quarantine requirements in the region. Cargo down 19.3 percent in August, as AAPA asks states to tune border rules
Asia Pacific airlines saw international cargo demand (in FTKs) slide 19.3 percent year-on-year in August, with the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) citing ongoing weakness of global trade flows. Freighter operations remained active but significant cuts in passenger operations led to a 33.4 percent year-on-year drop in offered freight capacity.
