Richard Branson has called on the US government to deny British Airways’ request for greater commercial cooperation, including agreement on ticket schedules and prices, with American Airlines. It is one year since British Airways applied to regulators for anti-trust immunity, which would in effect allow it to dominate Heathrow Airport. British based Virgin Atlantic Airways, has signed a firm contract to buy six Airbus A330-300 long-range aircraft, and is leasing a further four from AerCap. Virgin Atlantic cuts Mumbai service

Virgin Atlantic Airways will cease operations - at least temporarily - on its Mumbai-London service from May as the economic crunch continues to take its toll on the global aviation industry. “We have decided to temporarily suspend operations to Mumbai with effect from May 4.
