HAECO, a world-leading aircraft engineering and maintenance solutions provider, is pleased to announce a new partnership with SF Airlines to provide C-checks for its Boeing 747 freighter fleet at HAECO’s state-of-the-art maintenance facilities in Hong Kong. This strategic agreement also secures future hangar slots to support SF Airlines’ operations.
Since September 2024, HAECO Hong Kong has been executing C-checks for SF Airlines’ fleet of four widebody Boeing 747-400F freighters. The latest partnership outlines three Boeing 747 base maintenance inputs in 2025, along with long-term hangar slot reservations for 10 Boeing 747 inputs from 2026 to 2030.
“Our partnership with SF Airlines is a testament to our commitment to the Chinese Mainland market. We recognize the growing demand for reliable maintenance solutions in this region and are dedicated to supporting our customers with tailored services that enhance their operational capabilities,” said Gerald Steinhoff, Chief Commercial Officer at HAECO.
“HAECO is excited to offer world-class MRO solutions to SF Airlines, the largest air cargo operator on the Chinese Mainland. With a clear purpose to keep our skies safe, we are committed to upholding the highest safety standards and efficiency for SF Airlines,” added Peter Murton, Chief Executive Officer of HAECO Hong Kong.
Li Gang, Vice President of Maintenance at SF Airlines, said, “The 747-400 freighter has played a pivotal role in the development of SF Airlines. Since its first operation in 2018, the 747-400 has become the mainstay of our route operations. Therefore, we attach great importance to finding an MRO with advanced technology and reliable quality for the 747-400 freighter fleet. The two parties can deepen cooperation in the fields of airframe maintenance and line maintenance to ensure that SF Airlines’ 747 always demonstrates extremely high reliability, safety and stability on challenging international cargo routes, helping SF Airlines to continuously expand its business territory. Through this cooperation, both two parties have fulfilled the commitment to deepening maintenance cooperation in the Greater Bay Area. In the future, we will jointly promote the improvement of maintenance standards, breakthroughs in technological innovation and optimization of safety service quality, in hopes of becoming a model of win-win cooperation between enterprises in the two places.”
The collaboration between HAECO and SF Airlines dates back to 2010 when HAECO began providing airframe services to the airline. HAECO also performed landing gear services in 2015, composites repair in 2021, and power drive unit (PDU) component repair in 2023 for SF Airlines. This latest agreement enhances the long-standing partnership with SF Airlines and underscore HAECO’s dedication to providing outstanding services to its valued customers.
