ABX Air to return four DHL-owned freighters
ABX Air, a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), has received termination notices from DHL affecting four DHL-owned Boeing 767-200 freighter aircrafts that ABX Air leases and operates within the US. DHL sought bids to operate the aircraft from other vendors earlier this year. The notices are effective in late December 2014 for two aircraft, and in January 2015 for the two remaining aircraft. This reduction in CMI operations for DHL will likely reduce ATSG’s earnings from … [Read more...] about ABX Air to return four DHL-owned freighters

With the top cargo job at United rather unexpectantly vacated by Robbie Anderson who … [Read more...] about Releasing United Cargo’s untapped potential

I am of course speaking of the news that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will be delisted from the country’s stock exchange and undergo what is said to be a massive overhaul and the other news from neighbouring Thailand where the military junta has declared Thai Airways (THAI) is to undergo a similarly substantial restructuring. Certainly both are in … [Read more...] about The pain of restructuring
Malaysia Airlines to cut 6,000 staff
Malaysia Airlines has announced that it will slash 6,000 jobs, reduce its route network, and replace its CEO as part of recovery plan after being hit by two disasters this year. State investment fund Khazanah Nasional, which controls the failing flag carrier, said it would pump 6 billion ringgit (US$1.9 billion) into the airline, hoping the changes will return the company to profitability by 2018. The airline released a statement saying its flights would operate as normal … [Read more...] about Malaysia Airlines to cut 6,000 staff
