Air carriers from the Gulf states will not be given new landing rights at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The Dutch government is citing “unfair competition with Air France-KLM” as the reason for its actions. UPS transports Olympic flame
The Olympic flame took to the skies at Athens airport on 18 May, courtesy of express carrier UPS. The flame was taken from Athens to the UPS hub at Cologne Bonn airport and then to Philadelphia, for the Special Olympics in Los Angeles from 25 July. Jettainer has inaugurated its expanded logistics centre at Frankfurt Airport. At the so called JettHub FRA, all resources are now bundled. The new facility guarantees immediate availability of ULD handling, maintenance and repair services at Germany's largest air traffic hub. Vietnam to restructure air freight market
The Vietnamese Transport Ministry has authorised restructure of the air freight market by 2020. The plan is to develop the cargo transport market and increase the role of airfreight, especially in key economic zones and remote areas, local newspaper Vietnam News reported Thursday. The project sets a goal of transporting 0.04 per cent of all goods by air by 2020 as well as 3.23 per cent of all travelers.
