Brussels Airport handles more than 2.5 million passengers and 71,000 tonnes of cargo in August
As in July, the second month of the summer holidays saw a further increase in passenger numbers at Brussels Airport. In August, the airport welcomed more than 2.5 million travellers, up 1.3% from the same period last year. As is customary at the end of the summer holidays, the number of arriving passengers exceeded the number of departing passengers. Air China Cargo launches new weekly service from Ürümqi Tianshan to Glasgow Prestwick
Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) has announced a new direct cargo route to Ürümqi Tianshan International Airport (URC), diversifying its China network and giving Scottish exporters access to China’s Northwest. Freight grows 2.9% at Frankfurt Airport in August as passenger traffic holds steady
Around 6.3 million passengers flew via Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in August. This was 0.3 percent lower than during the same month last year. Nevertheless, the August numbers set a new monthly record for 2026. The two busiest days so far in 2026 were also in August, with each day seeing more than 220,000 passengers.
