FedEx Express takes delivery of first 777 Freighter
FedEx Express has taken delivery of its first of 15 Boeing 777 Freighters it has on order with at least four of these serving Asia to US routes by April 2010. TNT puts own freighter on HK, Europe route
Express operator TNT is enhancing its service capacity between China and Europe with the addition of a new dedicated B747-400ER freighter. Non-stop flights will operate between Hong Kong and TNT's European air hub in Belgium. Signs of a clear, but fragile recovery in air cargo demand are being driven by companies restocking inventories which have run low, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said on Thursday. AMERICAS: Atlas Air profits up aided by DHL business
Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, parent of Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo, reported second-quarter net profit of US$11.3 million, a more-than-sevenfold increase over a $1.5 million profit in the same period a year earlier despite revenue plummeting nearly 45 per cent to $240 million.
