Evergreen International Airlines has won preliminary US approval for a new air cargo route to China. Evergreen plans to acquire two Boeing 747-400F freighters to operate six round-trip flights a week to Shanghai from New York’s John F. Air China says it carried 68,000 tonnes of cargo in August, down 4.1 per cent on August 2007. Its eight month rolling comparison for the year was 552,384 tonnes, little changed from the same period of 2007.
