Jet Airway CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer is expecting another loss in the current financial year but believes the carrier will pass Air India in terms of revenue for the 12 months ending 31 March, 2009, to become India’s leadingairline. Cathay Pacific Airways is looking at a possible major revamp of its network and fleet than previously disclosed, according to a memo sent to employees last week by CEO Tony Tyler. Taiwan: Evergreen gets US green light for China

Evergreen International Airlines has won preliminary US approval for a new air cargo route to China. Evergreen plans to acquire two Boeing 747-400F freighters to operate six round-trip flights a week to Shanghai from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, with stops in Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth and Columbus, Ohio. The airline plans to carry about 360 tonnes of cargo a week out of China starting March 2009. China: Air China sees volumes slide in August

Air China says it carried 68,000 tonnes of cargo in August, down 4.1 per cent on August 2007. Its eight month rolling comparison for the year was 552,384 tonnes, little changed from the same period of 2007.
