Singapore Airlines has taken delivery of its first A350 XWB in Toulouse, France, becoming the fifth operator of the all-new widebody airliner. India’s air cargo sector is expected to grow by more than 180 per cent within the next 15 years, in a large part boosted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 'Make in India’ campaign focusing on growing manufacturing from its present 15 per cent of GDP to a full 25 per cent by 2022, according to Dr Renu Singh Parmar, senior adviser for India’s ministry of civil aviation. BREAKING NEWS: ICAO bans Lithium-ion battery cargo on passenger aircraft
The 36-State International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Governing Council has adopted a new aviation safety measure prohibiting, on an interim basis, all shipments of Lithium-ion batteries as cargo on passenger aircraft, effective 1 April 2016. The ban pertains only to Lithium-ion batteries shipped as cargo on passenger aircraft and not to those contained in personal electronic devices carried by passengers or crew. DHL chief issues “unequivocal” denial of global forwarding sale
The CEO of Deutsche Post's DHL, Frank Appel has given an “unequivocal" denial that the logistics giant is looking to shed its troubled freight forwarding division, dismissing the flurry of reports as nothing more than “false rumours”.
