Express operator TNT is enhancing its service capacity between China and Europe with the addition of a new dedicated B747-400ER freighter. Non-stop flights will operate between Hong Kong and TNT's European air hub in Belgium. Air cargo upturn underway, but “fragileâ€Â
Signs of a clear, but fragile recovery in air cargo demand are being driven by companies restocking inventories which have run low, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said on Thursday. But this pick up would remain “fragile†as long as economic recovery is driven by the inventory cycle, and not by increased consumption and business investment, IATA warned. An extraordinary quarter century
What an extraordinary year for air cargo was 1984, the year that Payload Asia was launched. Picture the air freight world as it was then. Reeling from the deregulation of the US airline industry in 1977, and the rise of FedEx and UPS, the US carriers were taking the revolutionary step of abandoning their freighter fleets. FedEx and UPS themselves were just taking their first tentative steps outside the US, settingup their first hubs in Europe. In Asia, freighter fleets were in their infancy: … [Read more...] about An extraordinary quarter century

This has enabled us to further improve our gross profit margins, control costs, and report an excellent netincome growth.†He went on to add that Aramex … [Read more...] about Innovation and quality pay off for Aramex
