Leading Czech logistics company CS Cargo has bought CS Express, one of the three largest Czech express delivery providers, CTK Business News reported. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed. The companies signed an agreement on a gradual increase of CS Cargo's stake in CS Express to 100 per cent. FedEx targets 20% lower CO2 emissions
FedEx has said it intends to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from its aircraft fleet by 20 per cent by 2020. It said it already has reduced CO2 emissions by 3.7 per cent per ATM since 2005. Key to the efficiency gains will be the replacement of its 90 727Fs with at least 87 757-200 converted freighters by 2016. The 757s will reduce "fuel consumption up to 36 per cent while providing 20 per cent more payload capacity," the group said. UPS said to be cuting NCA loose in favour of ANA
UPS is said to be teaming up with All Nippon Airlines (ANA), as it cuts its links with Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA). According to press reports from Japan, the agreement between the two calls for ANA to carry cargo to Asian destinations for the integrator, while UPS gives the carrier space on its flights to North America and Europe. UPS plans new Calgary express hub
Express carrier UPS plans to open a new distribution center at Calgary International Airport in October, 2009. The company's Canada subsidiary will construct a C$26-million, 150,000-square-foot distribution facility to handle import, export and Canadian domestic shipments. DHL opens new Jordan hub
DHL Express, has announced that its US$3.7 million hub in Jordan is now fully operational, Al-Bawaba News reported. The new facility combines a state-of-the-art airside operation with the hub and transit point.
