Boeing and Myanmar National Airlines celebrated the delivery of its first next-generation 737-800 leased from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing arm of GE. American Airlines Cargo has further extended its reach in eastern Europe with the appointment of FlyUs as its GSA in both Hungary and Poland. Effective June 1, FlyUs took on responsibility for the airline’s cargo sales in each country. Qatar commences Doha-Amsterdam flights
Qatar Airways has commenced services between Amsterdam and Doha with the inaugural flight landing at Schiphol Airport on 16 June, welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute. BIFA Names Osborn New Chairman
Fred Osborn succeeds Carson McMullan as the national chairman of the trade association for UK freight forwarders, with Mark Bromley becoming vice chairman. Since 2000, Osborn has been the co-owner of X-Pand International Freight Ltd. He has been BIFA's vice chairman for the past two years and was previously chair of BIFA's Air Policy Group.
