Cargo growth has "come off the boil": IATA

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that growth continued to slow in May. Compared to May 2014, growth in freight tonne kilometers (FTK) was 2.1 per cent, the slowest rate this year and outpaced by a capacity expansion of 4.3 per cent. Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has signed a new, 10-year extension of its handling franchise at the airport. The new agreement with Hong Kong’s Airport Authority runs from July 2018, when the current franchise expires. Hong Kong's Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) has announced that it has set itself higher service standards to speed up the handling of general import cargo by up to three hours.
