Air freight confidence up slightly in July
The Stifel Logistics Confidence Index for July has made a slight gain in July but continues the month-by-month fluctuations that have been occurring through much of this year. Since February the overall Index (air and sea freight combined) has increased one month and then declined the next reaching its high so far this year in May at 57.9. Cargolux Airlines International will take delivery of its 10th B747-8 freighter from Boeing on 25 July. Panalpina sees solid half-year results
International freight forwarding and logistics company Panalpina improved overall profitability in the first half of 2014 with group gross profit and EBIT, which were significantly impacted by currencies, both increased two per cent reaching CHF 777.9 million (US$862 million) and CHF 60.1 million respectively.
