TNT Express has launched a five day per week air cargo service linking Moscow and its main European hub Liege, via Warsaw. The new route, operated by a B737-300 freighter providing 16 tonnes of capacity, will secure and speed up the expedition of time-critical shipments to and from Russia. Agility’s first quarter profit plummets
Kuwait-based global logistics company, Agility has reported a drop in first quarter net profit by 52 per cent from a year ago to KD17.5 million (US$60.1 million) and warned future earnings will suffer from the loss of US military contracts in the wake of fraud charges. Commerce ministry spokesman Yao Jian stated that China's trade surplus will fall steeply as the renminbi rises against foreign currencies, reported state media. Surpluses narrowed in the first quarter of 2010, with China declaring a US$7.24 billion trade deficit in March. FedEx Trade Networks has opened three additional offices in its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. This latest step in the company's global expansion plan includes new operations in Warsaw and Gdynia, Poland and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
