Asia Pac carriers see 4.7% rise in cargo demand

Air freight confidence up slightly in July

The Stifel Logistics Confidence Index for July has made a slight gain in July but continues the month-by-month fluctuations that have been occurring through much of this year. Since February the overall Index (air and sea freight combined) has increased one month and then declined the next reaching its high so far this year in May at 57.9. May cargo figures see continued growth: AAPA

Preliminary traffic figures for the month of May released by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) showed healthy growth in demand for both air freight and international passenger markets. AAR aquires cargo loading assets of PFW Aerospace

AAR Corp. announced that its 100 per cent owned subsidiary, Telair International has signed a definitive agreement to purchase the cargo loading system assets of Speyer, Germany-based PFW Aerospace. Air cargo continues fragile recovery: IATA

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released figures showing a small improvement in air freight growth in October, with global freight tonne kilometers (FTK) up four per cent compared with October 2012, with growth in all regions except Africa.
