Global Air Freight Demand Increases 13% in May
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that demand, measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTKs), grew 12.7% in May 2017 compared to the year-earlier period. This was up from the 8.7% annual growth recorded in April 2017 and is more than three times higher than the five year average growth rate of 3.8%. WFS wins Singapore Airlines Cargo business in Stockholm
Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has won a three-year contract to handle cargo for Singapore Airlines new services from Stockholm. At the end of May, the airline launched five Airbus A350-900 flights a week connecting Singapore and Stockholm via Moscow.
