Cargo on the up for Cathay Pacific
Cathay Pacific Airways today released combined Cathay Pacific and Dragonair traffic figures for October 2015 showing growth in both the number of passengers carried and the amount of cargo and mail uplifted compared to the same month in 2014. The two airlines carried 163,733 tonnes of cargo and mail in October, an increase of 4.6 per cent compared to the same month last year. Emirates SkyCargo officially opened the first phase of its state-of-the-art cargo terminal at Dubai’s new Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) yesterday. Volga-Dnepr Group has supported a project to reintroduce endangered Przewalski horses in the Ural steppes of Russia. One of the Group’s B737-400SF freighters carried six of the rare horses from Montpellier in France to Orenburg, located on the Ural River some 1,500 kilometres southeast of Moscow.
