ANA to launch services to Houston
ANA is to launch a new route from Narita to Houston, the capital of the US oil and energy industry, from June next year as part of an expansion of its network between the Americas and the growing Asian market. Japanese freight firms fined for price fixing
Singapore's competition watchdog has imposed penalties over US$7 million on 10 Japanese freight forwarders for price fixing. The Competition Commission of Singapore (CCS) said in a statement that 11 companies were fixing prices and exchanging price and customer information concerning air freight forwarding services for the Japan-Singapore route. DHL was the only freight forwarder to escape being penalised as it qualified for full immunity under CCS's leniency programme. Vienna Airport November cargo increased by 13%
Vienna Airport's total air cargo grew by 13.1 per cent in November 2014 compared to the same month last year, whereas the number of flight movements fell by 1.7 per cent and the maximum take-off weight rose by 1.3 per cent. The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport was down by 1.5 per cent, declining to a total of 1,622,568 passengers.
