Cainiao, the logistics affiliate of Alibaba Group Holding Limited, has announced the establishment of three fresh food distribution centres in three major Chinese cities: Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. China Southern Cargo begins maindeck to Stansted
China Southern Cargo will become the latest major carrier to join Stansted Airport’s global cargo network when it begins a new service between Guangzhou and Stansted from 20 June. The airline will operate two flights a week, rising to three a week later this year, to Stansted from China’s third largest city, using a B777-200 freighter. EVA Air signs MOU for four more A330s
EVA Air of Taiwan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Airbus for the purchase of four additional A330-300s. Qatar commences Doha-Amsterdam flights
Qatar Airways has commenced services between Amsterdam and Doha with the inaugural flight landing at Schiphol Airport on 16 June, welcomed with a traditional water cannon salute. BIFA Names Osborn New Chairman
Fred Osborn succeeds Carson McMullan as the national chairman of the trade association for UK freight forwarders, with Mark Bromley becoming vice chairman. Since 2000, Osborn has been the co-owner of X-Pand International Freight Ltd. He has been BIFA's vice chairman for the past two years and was previously chair of BIFA's Air Policy Group. He joined the trade association's Board in 2011.
