Lufthansa Cargo has launched a weekly freighter service to Guadalajara, Mexico from 22 July. The flight, operated by an MD-11 freighter, will fly from Lufthansa’s Frankfurt hub via Dallas/Fort Worth to Guadalajara and again via Dallas back to Frankfurt. First quarterly loss in six years for SIA
Singapore Airlines has posted its first quarterly loss since 2003, with a S$307.1 million (US$212.6 million) loss that compared to a S$358.6 million profit in the fiscal first quarter of 2008-09. The global economic downturn, swine flu and unfavorable fuel hedges dragged the carrier into the red. Leading integrators DHL, TNT, FedEx and UPS need to reorganise their networks as a result of structural changes in the industry according to consulting firm Datamonitor. Boeing finalises Vought purchase for 787s
Boeing announced the conclusion of its acquisition of the business and operations conducted by Vought Aircraft Industries at its South Carolina facility, where a key structure for the 787 Dreamliner is built.
