American Airlines has launched its international B787-9 service between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Madrid Barajas (MAD) in Spain, offering cargo customers up to 36 LD3 positions, or 12 pallets, depending on the market. The B787-9 is also currently operating from DFW to Sao Paulo (GRU) and, in January, will be added to the DFW-Paris (CDG) route. Thai Airways International could resume direct flights to North America - likely Seattle and Vancouver - following the arrival of its new fleet of A350-900 and B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. IAG Cargo bumps Middle East capacity by 83%
IAG Cargo has today announced plans to enhance its operations in the Middle East. From winter 2016, the carrier will separate its current Abu Dhabi and Muscat service into two flights, and will also split its Bahrain and Doha service. These four separate services will inject an additional 83 per cent capacity for IAG into the region. Flights to Muscat will operate five times a week, while services to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Doha will operate on a daily basis. Thai Airways to stick to delivery plan for 12 new A350s
Thai Airways International (THAI) has opted not to postpone the delivery of a fleet of 12 A350-900s, after the military government’s State Enterprises Policy Commission had earlier advocated THAI delay the new aircraft over the next three years to relieve financial burdens weighing on the company's turnaround plan. Air New Zealand will upscale capacity on its four-times weekly Auckland-Honolulu route with its new B787-9 to replace the existing B767-300 from end-March next year. Qantas posts best profit since before the GFC
Qantas today announced its strongest profit since before the Global Financial Crisis and an order for eight B787-9 aircraft, to be delivered from calendar year 2017 to gradually replace five older B747s to start a "new era" for Qantas International.
