Bangkok Airways doubled its earnings in the first quarter of the year. It posted a net profit of 1.08 billion baht (approx. US$32.35 million) compared with 514 million baht in the same period last year. It saw its revenue rise by 10.6 per cent to 6.73 billion baht as it carried 10.9 per cent more passengers at 1.43 million on 6.65 per cent growth in seat capacity after adding two aircraft to take its fleet to 29. Bangkok Air receives first ATR 72-600s on order
Bangkok Airways took delivery of its first ATR 72-600 at a special ceremony in Toulouse, France. The handover marked a key milestone in the carrier's development as it plans to take delivery of nine new ATR aircraft from now until 2017.
