IAG Cargo has restarted its London Heathrow to Sydney route for the first time since early 2020, as Australia reopened its borders to vaccinated passengers all over the world. Starting 27 March, IAG Cargo will utilise a B787-9 widebody aircraft with the capacity to transport up to 13 tonnes of cargo (10 compatible pallets) on a daily rotation. Dubai bans cargo imports at DXB to clear backlog
Dubai will restrict imports of cargo into its international airport for six days from Tuesday to clear a backlog caused by “extraordinarily high” volumes of inbound shipments. Air New Zealand opens new cargo route to the US
Air New Zealand is launching cargo flights between Melbourne and Los Angeles after the airline was awarded the route as part of the Australian Government's International Freight Assistance Mechanism (IFAM) programme. The airline will operate one flight per week until 31 October 2021, with the first flight bound for Melbourne on 3 July. Incheon Airport to open ‘cool cargo center’ this year
Incheon International Airport is set to start operations at its newest cool cargo center this year as it aims to improve the airport’s hub competitiveness, particularly in the perishables sector. Qatar Airways will add San Francisco (SFO) to its network starting 15 December, with four weekly flights operated by A350-900 aircraft and adding 60 tonnes of weekly belly hold capacity each way. May air cargo shows slight pickup amid continuing capacity crunch
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets in May showing a slight improvement in the air cargo market.
