Boeing and Qatar Airways announced an order for 30 B787-9 Dreamliners and 10 B777-300ERs, valued at US$11.7 billion at list prices. A World Trade Organisation (WTO) compliance panel ruled on 22 September that the European Union has failed to comply with its obligation to remedy the massive subsidies European governments have provided to create and sustain Airbus for more than 40 years. ‘Father of the 747’, Joe Sutter dies aged 95
Joe Sutter, the chief engineer of the legendary Boeing 747, died on Tuesday aged 95. Responsible for leading Boeing’s engineering team on the B747-100 in the mid-1960s, Sutter spent four decades working for the aircraft manufacturer on a number of projects including the Dash 80, 707 and 737 aircraft, but none as iconic as the ‘Jumbo Jet’.
