Middle East forecast to need 3,180 new aircraft over next 20 years

Boeing forecasts airlines in the Middle East will require 3,180 new aircraft over the next 20 years, valued at an estimated US$730 billion, with 70 per cent of the demand expected to be driven by rapid fleet expansion in the region. Japan Airlines (JAL) reported a 3.1 per cent YoY drop in group net profit for the first three quarters of fiscal 2014, to 119.684 billion yen (US$1.01 billion), despite a nearly double-digit rise in international cargo revenue. IATA: Tonnage up but rates to shrink in 2015

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced an outlook for improved industry profitability in its Economic Performance of the Air Transport Industry report.
