Japan Airlines (JAL) reported a 3.1 per cent YoY drop in group net profit for the first three quarters of fiscal 2014, to 119.684 billion yen (US$1.01 billion), despite a nearly double-digit rise in international cargo revenue. Philippine carrier Cebu Pacific reported its net income for the first half of 2014 at PHP 3 billion (US$68.4 million), an increase from Php 257 million for the same period last year. Its Q2 2014 total revenues increased 33.7 per cent YoY to Php 14.95 billion.   Cargo revenues posted an increase of 15.7 per cent as CEB carried 37 million of kilos of cargo, an increase of 17.7 per cent for the same period last year. Thai Airways International has reported a loss in the second quarter of this year because of several negative factors, though the amount was smaller than in the same period last year. The carrier lost US$159 million in the April- June period, compared with a loss of over $271 million a year earlier, when it was badly affected by the oil price spike and a huge foreign-exchange loss.
