Virgin Atlantic Cargo teamed up with motorsport freight forwarding specialists first-air to organise delivery of two Chevrolet Corvette CR.7 cars from Chicago to London on their journey to Le Mans in France, where Corvette Racing is bidding to win the 83rd running of the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race. IAG Cargo takes off in Kuala Lumpur
IAG Cargo has opened its newest bellyhold route, operating between London Heathrow and Kuala Lumpur with up to 15 tonnes of cargo capacity per daily flight. FTA: Decision-time for airport capacity
A decision on airport capacity needs to be made by UK Government sooner rather than later – says the Freight Transport Association (FTA). Virgin Atlantic to trial UK pet travel scheme
Virgin Atlantic Cargo is to partner the City of London’s Heathrow Animal Reception Centre (HARC) to trial a pre-check service for pets landing in the UK on the airline’s flights. The service aims to comfort pet owners by eliminating stress caused by the uncertainty of not knowing if their pets will meet the entry requirements of the UK Pet Travel Scheme. Heathrow sees 3.3% cargo growth in January
Cargo at London Heathrow airport grew 3.3 per cent to 115,847 tonnes in January, compared with the same month in 2014. The January results included increases of 54.0 per cent to Mexico, 28.6 per cent to Brazil, 11.3 per cent to India and 11.2 per cent to Turkey.
