HKIA sees robust growth in cargo volumes
Air cargo throughput at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) registered growth of 10.3 per cent to 659,000 tonnes during the first two months of the year. The combined growth of cargo throughput for the first two months was mainly attributed to 12 per cent year-on-year growth in exports and 10 per cent growth in transshipments. Cathay launches Kolkata freighter service
Cathay Pacific Airways is starting a bi-weekly non-stop freighter service from Kolkata airport to Hong Kong, aimed at boosting import and export in the region. Operating on Thursdays and Sundays, the company will operate B747-400F to carry an estimated 30 tonnes of cargo to and fro Kolkata. Panalpina expands air freight network to Brazil
Panalpina is expanding its controlled air freight network by adding a full-freighter service to Brazil. As of March, Panalpina will not only operate scheduled charter flights from Hong Kong to Huntsville, but also from Huntsville to São Paulo.
