FOCA approves Etihad’s Darwin stake

Etihad Airways gets Switzerland’s Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) approval for 33.3 per cent investment in the Swiss regional carrier Darwin Airline. Since January 2014, Lugano-based Darwin Airline has operated as Etihad Regional under a brand and partnership agreement with Etihad Airways. Sanad extends contract with Etihad by US$100M

Sanad Aero Solutions GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company, has increased its leasing portfolio of spare engines and components with Etihad Airways through the addition of new assets valued at US$100 million, including spare GEnx and GP7200 engines and spare landing gear and nacelles, to support the airline’s growing fleet of B777, B787, A320 and A380 aircraft. Revived Alitalia sees new focus on Asia

Alitalia is planning to launch a series of new routes to Asia as part of its restructuring plan including Rome-Beijing, Rome-Seoul, Milan-Shanghai and additional Milan-Tokyo flights. Etihad doubles freight volume to Melbourne

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has announced plans for a second daily non-stop service between Abu Dhabi and Melbourne from 1 August 2015.  The additional flight will be operated by a B777-300ER aircraft. Etihad Cargo adds third B747 from Atlas Air

Etihad Cargo has expanded its fleet of freighter aircraft with the placement of a third B747 freighter from Atlas Air Worldwide as part of a multi-year Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) agreement. Etihad launches Dar Es Salaam service

Etihad Airways will expand its African route network with the launch of a daily service to Dar es Salaam, the largest city in Tanzania. Flights between Abu Dhabi and Dar es Salaam, which will commence on 1 December 2015, will be operated using A320 aircraft.
