DHL Express (USA) has agreed to pay US$53 million to resolve an antitrust class action accusing the express company and others of participating in an international price-fixing scheme, according to documents filed this week in New York federal court. Asiana to pay $55M in freight case
South Korean Asiana Airlines will pay US$55 million to purchasers of freight shipping services to resolve claims of price-fixing. The airline is one of more than two dozen worldwide that faced allegations of conspiring to inflate shipping prices in the case in federal court in Brooklyn, New York. Deutsche Bahn’s logistics subsidiary Schenker has filed a lawsuit against certain air cargo carriers operating in the US market, allegedly claiming damages for illegal fixing fuel and security surcharges for shipments from, to and within the US from 1999 until at least 2006. Polar Air Cargo, a division of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings (AAWW), has reached an agreement with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division to settle a price fixing charge involving fuel surcharges and cargo rates amongst a group of carriers. South Africa's turn for price-fixing allegations
Eight air cargo carriers including South African Airways Cargo face allegations of fixing the price of fuel surcharges and freight rates for cargo flown in and out of South Africa.
