Swissport echoes sustainability at new Vienna facility
Swissport has officially inaugurated a new 8,000-sqm cargo facility near Vienna Airport and is leading the way with its own sustainable initiatives. Vienna Airport, Lufthansa team up on pharma shipments
As part of a cooperation, Vienna Airport will now handle all pharma shipments transported by Austrian Airlines for Lufthansa Cargo at its GDP-certified pharma handling center or VPHC. The airport said the cooperation further establishes Austria’s international airport as a strong pharma hub for central and eastern Europe. Vienna Airport November cargo increased by 13%
Vienna Airport's total air cargo grew by 13.1 per cent in November 2014 compared to the same month last year, whereas the number of flight movements fell by 1.7 per cent and the maximum take-off weight rose by 1.3 per cent. The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport was down by 1.5 per cent, declining to a total of 1,622,568 passengers.
