Panalpina to acquire specialised perishables freight forwarder
Panalpina has announced it will acquire a majority stake in Airflo, a company based in Kenya and the Netherlands specialised in the export handling of flowers and vegetables. Airflo is part of Dutch Flower Group (DFG), a major flower and plant trader. The acquisition reflects Panalpina’s continued expansion in Africa and its increasing focus on the perishables business. The Emirates Group today announced its half-year results for 2015-16, showing continued business growth and a strong performance. Middle East forecast to need 3,180 new aircraft over next 20 years
Boeing forecasts airlines in the Middle East will require 3,180 new aircraft over the next 20 years, valued at an estimated US$730 billion, with 70 per cent of the demand expected to be driven by rapid fleet expansion in the region. Korean Air’s Cho Yang-ho awarded top honour by France
Cho Yang-ho, chairman of Hanjin Group - which includes both Korean Air and Hanjin Shipping - received the Légion d'Honneur Grand Officier medal, one of France's highest civilian honors, from French President François Hollande at a special ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel, Seoul, Wednesday.
