TIACA’s Doug Brittin to step down end of the year
Doug Brittin, secretary general of the International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) since 2013, has advised the Board of Directors that he will retire at the end of this year. A selection committee, under the direction of TIACA vice-chairman Sebastiaan Scholte of Jan de Rijk Logistics has been established and has commenced the process to review and recruit candidates. All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Boeing celebrated the delivery of the airline's 50th B787 Dreamliner during a ceremony today at Boeing's Everett Delivery Center. Boeing, Nok Air Partner for Humanitarian Aid Flight
Boeing and Nok Air partnered today to launch a special humanitarian aid mission to Thailand. With the help of the international non-profit organization Vital Voices, whose mission is to invest in and empower women leaders, the airline's 22nd Next-Generation 737-800 will transport and deliver nearly 30 boxes full of relief items including clothes and school supplies. Cathay Pacific Cargo sees cargo revenue drop 17% in 1H
Fierce competition, excess capacity and suspended fuel surcharges saw cargo revenue at Cathay Pacific falling 17.2 per cent in the first half to US$1.2 billion. The decline occured despite a marginal increase in the tonnage carried in the first six months of 0.2 per cent, which was offset by a 0.6 per cent increase in capacity of both Cathay Pacific and Dragonair that pulled the load factors down to 62.2 per cent, the carrier said.
